The Flamingo Thumb Spica Splint is an useful device used to immobilise the thumb in the abduction position. Without restricting hand movement, it supports the CMC joint and immobilises the thumb's MCP joint.
DeQuervain's syndrome may benefit from the Flamingo Thumb Spica Splint because it lessens discomfort and inflammation brought on by cumulative trauma injuries, post-cast recovery, suspected fractures of the scaphoid bone in the wrist, and soft tissue injuries to the thumb and wrist. It provides preventative protection when participating in particular sports and hobbies and is excellent for arthritis, skier's thumb, and gamekeeper's thumb. It is constructed of three layers of stretchy, breathable cotton sandwiched between moulded PU foam to ensure a snug fit over the thumb. The Velcro closures guarantee rapid, simple application and removal of the item as well as a snug, tailored fit of the thumb splint.
